| PRODUCT DESCRIPTION |
The Astera Artnet to DMX converter module is applied whenever a DMX protocol has to be sent over an Ethernet cable. Ethernet to DMX has been around in stage lighting control for quite a while. As a new low cost Ethernet to DMX gateway enters the market, On Stage Lighting looks at the use of DMX over a network.
The Astera Artnet -DMX controller adds a whole new dimension to lighting design. Astera combines emotional and functional aspects in perfect harmony. Its modular design makes it the perfect design element for walls and ceilings. It also has a low mounting height and is easy to install. This module produces impressive scenarios with an excellent long-distance signal effect and is therefore an innovative solution for median compatible interior design. Cutting-edge DMX network routing designed for small to large scale events. These network nodes provide the most extensive routing, patching and merging for DMX distribution. All units can be configured as you want. And different techonolgies are available at your needs.
A DMX network using Artnet-DMX controller, at its simplest, is used to transmit many DMX universes from a lighting control console, down a single CAT5 cable, to the stage. An Ethernet to DMX converter is used, via DMX buffers/Splitters to send data off to different parts of the lighting rig. It certainly beats running four or more standard DMX XLR cables over the same distance.
Ethernet offers the price/performance ratio for distributing DMX. It’s flexible, can be sent over wires or wireless cost effectively, can be designed with automatic redundancy and very stable. The real benefit of Ethernet to DMX centers around the lighting control equipment itself. More consoles, visualizes, media server and other complex parts of a large lighting system can use the two way nature and bandwidth of a network to communicate in a way that the DMX 512, one-way serial protocol just can’t do.
This product has been designed to be especially suitable for architectural LED lighting. Large pixel arrangements can be setup with less effort at a lower price. Whenever a multi-pixel indoor lighting system is to be setup, the Ethernet to DMX converter provides the right signal to illuminate and control multiple LED pixels. For events and exhibitions, the Ethernet converter can be used with LED video tiles. As it is designed to fit into 19” racks used by professional event organizers, it can be integrated and transported with the rest of the event solutions.
